Actress Angelina Jolie did not answer questions related to her conflict with her ex-husband but still talked about her family and future plans.
In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter on August 30, Angelina Jolie said “no” when reporters asked about her divorce from Brad Pitt. The actress only answered questions about her project Maria, which is competing at the Venice Film Festival. The news agency commented that Jolie has a clear boundary for some private topics.

According to Jolie, Hollywood artists in the past could do without revealing their personal lives, just letting their work speak for itself. Now, the relationship with the audience is different, so she has to get used to sharing what she can with the public.

Although Angelina Jolie refused to talk about Brad Pitt, she still mentioned her children. Her two eldest sons, Maddox, 23, and Pax Thien, 21, joined the cast of Maria as assistant directors. They kept strangers out of the theater while the star was filming an opera scene, and cheered their mother up with hugs or a cup of tea when she was tired. Jolie said director Pablo Larraín praised Pax Thien’s still photography skills when he saw him working. The beauty did not want to mention Pax Thien’s accident , only saying that her son is recovering.

Also in the interview, Angelina Jolie said she doesn’t have many close friends to rely on or call in an emergency. The star explained: “I don’t have that kind of relationship, maybe because my parents were gone when I was young, because of work or because I’ve been betrayed too many times. But I still have a few friends, just enough. Loung Ung – a Cambodian-American human rights activist – is one of my closest friends. My mother used to be very close to me, but she passed away.”
The actress, who currently lives with her children in Los Angeles, said she plans to move to Cambodia when they turn 18. Since her divorce, she has spent less time filming because she wants to spend more time with her children. The star continues her humanitarian work and is working on several film projects with a future role as a director. She has an idea for a film about Don McCullin, a British photojournalist famous for his wartime photographs.

Angelina Jolie , 49, was born into an artistic family in the United States. She first appeared on screen with her father, Jon Voight, in the film Lookin’ to Get Out (1982) and began acting in 1993 with Cyborg . The actress has won three Golden Globes and an Oscar.
Maria marks the reunion of director Pablo Larraín and screenwriter Steven Knight. The story follows the life of the world’s greatest opera singer, recreating her final days in Paris in the 1970s. The singer lives alone, with only her butler (played by Pierfrancesco Favino) and maid (Alba Rohrwacher) to care for her. The film received an eight-minute standing ovation at the 2024 Venice Film Festival on August 29 (local time).
