Brad Pitt ‘wins major victory in lawsuit against Jolie’

Judge rejects Angelina Jolie’s request to sue Brad Pitt over Miraval estate in France.

In a court filing on November 8, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Lia Martin denied three motions filed by Angelina Jolie’s lawyers to dismiss Brad Pitt’s allegations. According to People , Jolie’s side objected to the argument Brad Pitt made in court in April. At that time, he claimed that his ex-wife violated a verbal and written agreement to sell shares of a winery in France.

Brad Pitt’s lawyers said the Jolie-Pitt couple signed a written agreement through their two separate companies – Mondo Bongo and Nouvel – in 2013. Accordingly, both parties stipulated that each party had the right of first refusal to buy the other’s shares of the vineyard at the Miraval estate and prohibited the sale of the property to outsiders without the other party’s approval.

Brad Pitt’s legal team claims the two companies’ written agreement, which covers all of the estate’s business, is in effect alongside the oral agreement between Jolie and Pitt to reach an agreement before selling their stake. Angelina Jolie has 30 days to respond, according to the judge’s decision on November 8.

A source close to Pitt told People that the latest result is “a clear victory for him” because the ruling affirms the legitimacy of the actor’s allegations, while proving that Jolie’s arguments have no basis in fact.

The dispute began in mid-2016, when Angelina Jolie wanted to sell the Miraval vineyard to move to England, but Brad Pitt objected. He said he loved the place so much that he spent a lot of time renovating and renovating it, so he didn’t want to sell it. In 2022, the actor sued his ex-wife for the first time for secretly selling ownership to Russian billionaire Yuri Shefler for $67 million. Since then, the two sides have continuously fought each other, accusing the ex of using a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) to hide wrongdoing during and after the marriage.

Angelina Jolie has recently made moves to end the legal battle. In July, Jolie’s lawyer said the star wanted her ex-husband to drop the lawsuit to help mend their family. In late September, many international news sites reported that the star used the name Jane Doe – a name often used to replace a woman’s real identity in accusations – to file a petition asking the court to dismiss the lawsuit demanding the Justice Department and the FBI provide information about the investigation into Brad Pitt’s abuse of his wife and children on a plane in 2016.

Angelina Jolie (now 49) and Brad Pitt (now 61) first met on the set of Mr. and Mrs. Smith (2005), when the actor was married to Jennifer Aniston. After Mr. and Mrs. Smith , the two went public with their relationship, got married in 2014, and together raised six children, including three adopted and three biological.

In 2016, Angelina Jolie filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences, using the date of the plane crash as the date of separation. Both fought for custody of their children, but Brad Pitt lost. To date, most of their children have sided with Jolie, except for 16-year-old Knox, who has yet to express his opinion on the tension between his parents.
