EL NUEVO DIARIO, SANTO DOMINGO.- National Police officers gunned down  Cristóbal Mota Linares, alias Junior 30 , on Saturday night. He was the alleged perpetrator of the 2005 death of  Alexis Mota Rivera, alias Nino Cuboy , a well-known drug trafficker and considered one of the most dangerous criminals to emerge from the Capotillo sector of the capital.

Junior 30, who was a minor when he allegedly committed the crime, died while at his residence, located in the Villas Agrícolas sector of the National District.

According to the preliminary report, Mota (a) Junior died while receiving medical attention at a health center after shooting at police officers, who were forced to repel the attack, in an incident reported last night on Juan Erazo Street, near Aníbal de Espinosa Street.

According to the preliminary report, officers were patrolling the area when they observed Mota, who, upon noticing the police presence, pulled out a firearm and fired at the officers.

A Taurus brand 9mm pistol with a 30-capsule magazine, containing 11 inside, was seized at the scene. The pistol was carried by the deceased at the time of the confrontation.

Nino Cuboy was murdered on January 10, 2005, and in addition to Junior 30, Roderis Gómez Muñoz (Robert) was also accused of his death.

The deceased, upon being cleared, according to the Police, appears in the institution’s files with at least seven records corresponding to homicide on 01-01-2006, arms trafficking on 01-01-2006, homicide on 03-22-2006, homicide on 11-14-2006, homicide on 04-18-2020, homicide on 09-09-2020 and homicide on 01-15-2021.

Alexis Mota Rivera was also known as Pablo Escobar, in reference to his power in controlling the drug trafficking business.

He was a native of the famous 42nd Street in the aforementioned sector, which was considered to be his total control.

Anyone who did wrong in this neighborhood had to face Nino Cuboy, since he did not allow anyone else to commit crimes there, according to newspaper reports from the time.

From a very early age, he became known in the criminal world due to his refined handling of the machete and knife.

He was imprisoned in La Victoria prison for several criminal offenses, including homicide.

According to accounts from that time, Nino Cuboy’s executioner was his brother-in-law, who acted in such a way in revenge for the shooting of his sister, supposedly because he had found her with another man.

Nino Cuboy was buried in the Máximo Gómez Cemetery, and this ceremony attracted much public attention, as the notorious antisocial figure was laid to rest as if he had been a national hero, with the tricolor insignia on his coffin.
